A couple of Suggested Rides
Tantragee Loop - generally Easy
Ride up Brook Street to the start of the Old Codgers Track at waypoint 1 Follow the Old Codgers Track up to the Tantragee Saddle. Cross stile and follow road down taking left hand fork half way down the road and cross the three fords to the gate. Close gate behind you. Carry on down and veer left at bottom before river and climb short hill to top. Follow track around past the golf course to the bridge at point 5. Throw bike over gate and follow track to next gate. Throw bike over this and cross green field and follow walking track all the way back to town. There are lots of exits, take one that suits you.
Extended Tantragee Loop - Includes big hill climb - Moderate
Same as above, but instead of going down the road at the Tantragee Saddle, turn left and cross the gate. Grind your way up to the top of Fireball road. Cruise down Fireball Road and then up the last little climb to the junction with Golf Road. You can either ride the Golf road down, or carry on up the Fireball a bit and go down the Blackberry (a bit harder). Either way you will join back up to the main Tantragee loop and you can follow this back to town.
Turners / Dead Dog - Serious singletrack - Hard
For the downhiller in you ride up Brook Street to the start of the Old Codgers Track at waypoint 1. Follow the Old Codgers Track up to the Tantragee Saddle. Turn left, cross the gate and grind up Fireball Road to top of hill at point 11. Turners starts with a drop off the edge to the right. Take this and go for it! Once at Point 12 at the bottom, take the downhill road to the very left and hoon it down to point 15. Drop off to the right and fight your way down to the bottom. PLEASE exit onto the walkway with care at the bottom Do what you want from here, you can grind back up Golf road and Fireball roads and do it again!
Blackberry Burn - Moderate
If your not quite into serious DH, but want something to challenge you a bit you can try this. Ride up Brook Street to the start of the Old Codgers Track at waypoint 1. Follow the Old Codgers Track up to the Tantragee Saddle. Turn left, cross the gate and grind up Fireball Road to top of hill at point 11. The Blackberry starts to the right of Turners and goes up slightly into the pines before a slippery bit of brake burning down the Blackberry track to point 13 on the map. Once at Point 13 you can turn right into Fireball and then a short distance along drop off to the right and follow the rest of the Blackberry to the bottom and come out at the gate on the Tantragee loop. Alternatively at point 13 go Left and go down Golf road.
Up For the View and the slippery slide down - moderate
Ride up Brook Street to the start of the Old Codgers Track at waypoint 1 Follow the Old Codgers Track up to the Tantragee Saddle. Turn left over the stile and over the gate, Climb up Fireball road to the top at point 11. Turn left and push your bike up the short climb to the ridge. Turn left and climb up to the Trig Point and enjoy the view. You can then make the most of the Firebreak in front of you down to the Atmore - Codgers link. At the link, right back to town or Left down a great track back to Codgers and then do another track!
IV Line - Hard
For the downhiller in you Ride up Brook Street to the start of the Old Codgers Track at waypoint 1. Follow the Old Codgers Track up to the Tantragee Saddle. Turn left, cross the gate and grind up Fireball Road to top of hill at point 11. The IV line starts with a drop off the edge to the left through some blackberry at the start of the climb to the trig. Take this and go for it! There is a wicked halfpipe in the middle, if this is just tooo much try going down the left hand side of it instead. Once at the bottom cross fence, turn left and climb back to the saddle and do something else...most likely the Turners/Dead Dog!
Other things to do
You can play along the ridge at the top and hoon down the firebreaks and switchbacks. You can head off up to the Dun Mountain tracks You can head off up to the Fringe Hill tracks You can do it all backwards!
