Old Coach Rd tracks

Old Coach Rd Map:

If starting from the northern end, come up School Rd to get on to the gravelled OC Rd. Much of the forest on the western side has now been logged. After the steep clay section, cut back L immediately onto track skirting forest edge. Halfway down this enters the forest and bottoms out in a gully. Turn L and re-enter forest climbing along fenceline. Halfway up track cuts R into forest and exits at top by house (1).
Rather than going down steep, wide clay firebreak, look for small track entrance into forest 20m up road. Exit forest & follow firebreak down to dam. After dam, look for track on R to climb up fenceline to (2).
Here you can fork L for steep descent, emerging at forest edge. Keep R to cnr of field and R again up through cleared forest to OC Rd. A narrow track entrance at (3) provides a short steep loop.
Alternatively, at (2), fork R to head straight to Loop'n'Luge. Turn R off this road to a small clearing. The single-track entrance is by abandoned car. Inside forest, take first L fork for The Loop, keeping left for the circuit which rejoins The Luge nr. the entrance. At track exit, follow road back to start or ride The Luge in reverse (there are bypasses for the drop-offs).
From here, we usually turn L at the Loop'n'Luge turn-off and follow the road down past (2) to reverse our route to  the dam. Ride or walk the steep firebreak and turn L at the house to follow rd out to OC Rd.
Enjoy it while you still can!

P.S. Not marked: At the northern cnr of the forest above Riverside there's a great little downhill. Where you rejoin the road, turn L to head straight out to Moutere Highway or R to return to OC Rd.
