We've been a little while without much communication while sorting a few things out, but can finally send out a new membership renewal form which should make life a little easier for you all to renew your memberships as it can now be done over the internet. Download "MTB Membership Form" and fill it out in Adobe
Acrobat (it's an editable pdf form), then click the Submit button and it will create an email to membership@nelsonmountainbikeclub.org.nz with the PDF as an attachment.
You can then direct credit your membership fee to the bank account
shown on the top of the form, using your name and SUB as the deposit
code. If you don't have internet banking, simply fill the form
out, print and post back to NMTBC, P.O. Box 82 Nelson with your payment. Your AFM/Hancock 2010 Forest Access Permit Tag will then be sent to you through the post.
During 2010 we will be working on scoping a more integrated on-line system for managing the membership database, entering events on-line and sending information to you in a timely fashion. As you can probably appreciate, running manual systems with a membership as big as the NMTBC's drains a lot of time and energy from the committee, and other already busy resources. For a little bit more good trail news to compliment the great work going on under the NMTBC's banner, check out the Lucky Thirteen press release. We put in a ton of work with several other parties including the NCC and TDC with the Tasman application, and these government supported projects as part of the National Cycleway will have a long lasting and very positive impact on the region. 13 out of 54 applications were selected in this once only opportunity and now move on to detailed feasibility studies. Next event we have on our books is the 12hr Enduro, which is also the 10th Anniversary model. Previously slated to run on March 13th, we are having to juggle a new date for this event around a very busy March/April events calendar and also due to scarce resources. Notification and entry forms for this event's date will be sent shortly. Meantime, planning has already started on the Six Hour at Rabbit Island during winter solstice weekend, provisionally Sunday June 20th. Keep that one free! Happy Trails Chris Mildon
