Codgers Trails Logging
Please be aware that the logging operation on Summit Hill will be starting this coming Tuesday Feb 2nd. The map shown here details the area that will be logged, and the new road constructed pre-Christmas which runs back over to Sharlands Hill will be used for trucking logs out via Tantragee Saddle, Groom Rd and the Maitai. There will obviously be closures put in place for Monday-Friday ops and all users should pay attention to signage and danger tape around this area. It is highly likely that all trails above Codgers will be closed for this operation for approx 6 weeks, including Jacks track from the Atmore Tce end.
And if you're ever feeling like we are hard done by here in Nelson with continuing access isses caused by logging, spare a thought for Napier and the Hawkes Bay, with their one big trail network Eskdale MTB Park currently closed until further notice - check here for that news.
